What is Communion? An ordinance given by Christ to the Church whereby we remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and identify with his redemptive work in our lives and the life of the Church.
The origin and culmination of the Christian life is God Himself and His work in us.
The Church is called to submit, obey, and pray for its Godly leadership as the leaders joyfully work to disciple every member.
Christians vocally and vocationally offer their lives to God in worship.
Christians have the Word of God as their regulating principle, and use discernment to avoid false teaching.
Hebrews 13:1-6 (HCSB) 1 Let brotherly love continue. 2 Don't neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it. 3 Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily. 4 Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers. 5 Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. 6 Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Christians find salvation only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God-disciplined Christians seek peace and holiness in the Church.
Ephesians 5:22-28 (HCSB) 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord, 23 for the husband is head of the wife as also Christ is head of the church. He is the Savior of the body. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives should [submit] to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as also Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 to make her holy, cleansing her in the washing of water by the word. 27 He did this to present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and blameless. 28 In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Ephesians 4:1-6 (HCSB) 1 I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, 3 diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds [us]. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope at your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
The life of faith risks all in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (HSBC)
The life of faith embraces God in the midst of every day decisions.
The Life of Faith confesses the promise of God even in the face of death as an example and blessing to future generations.
The life of faith trusts God completely and relies upon His goodness and sovereignty in the face of suffering and ignorance.
Matthew 22:35-39 (HCSB) 35 And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question to test Him: 36 "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" 37 He said to him, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the greatest and most important commandment. 39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
The Life of Faith goes on mission as the Church wherever God sends.
The Life of Faith is counter-culturally evangelistic and lovingly familial in its obedience to God’s word.
